HELP
Any information on above stamp.
Brought from EBAY only £1.50
The Proclamation of the Republic of Austria stamp issued in 1945 is a significant piece of postal history, marking Austria's return to independence after World War II. This stamp was part of the provisional issues during the Allied occupation and is often sought after by collectors. perhaps.
Answer
After contacting a senior member of the society I found that it was from 1946 and was part of a set:
ST. STEPHEN'S CATHEDRAL RECONSTRUCTION, 12 DECEMBER 1946.
Funny how being out of the set, I failed to recognise it. I knew I had seen it before some where!
